Night Before Christmas- Heughligan Styleby Heidi Burke (@Ciaobella106)
‘Twas the night before Christmas,
when all through the clan,
Not a Heughligan was stirring,
not even our Jan;
The kilt hose were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Sam Heughan soon would be there;
The Heughligans were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of kilted highlanders danced in their heads;
And Mamma Pickle in her sweater,
and the Admins in their hats,
Had just settled in for a long winter’s chat,
When out on the page there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from our chairs to see what was the matter,
Away to the group we flew like a flash,
Opened the page and started to fash.
The posts in the group we wanted to know,
So we skimmed down the page ’til it started to show,
When what to our wondering eyes did appear,
But a horse named Donas wearing a sneer,
With a tall handsome rider sweet as a lamb,
We knew in a moment it must be our Sam,
More rapid than eagles his fangirls they came,
And they whistled, and shouted, and called him by name:
“Now, Stephanie! now, Cathy! now, Joi, Alicia and Kat!
On, Kim! on, Cathy, on, Kendra, Natalie and Kristin!
To the top of the page! to the top of the wall!
Dinna fash! dinna fash! dinna fash all!”
As the threads on the page did make them all sigh,
Yes,they had the best members on Facebook, aye;
So off to the Twitter the Admins they ran
With donations and t-shirts to show they were the fans-
And then, in a twinkling, we heard through the feed,
The tweets and the posts of our Sam Heughan, indeed.
As we tweeted away and clamored for a view,
He appeared with his tweets and made us go “ooh”,
He was dressed in a kilt, his legs we did see,
And his smile made girls go weak at the knees;
A sporran of surprises he had at his waist,
And he looked like our Jamie, virgin and chaste,
His eyes, so blue! The cleft in his chin!
His resemblance to Fraser was a definite win!
His sexy lips were smiling, who wants to know why,
And his fangirls were fainting…ready to die,
James Alexander Malcom Mackenzie Fraser, had finally appeared,
Outlander fans tweeted, posted, and cheered.
They had their Jamie and Diana was glad,
Sam was a dream, even though some were mad,
He had a chisled face and a taut hard belly,
Thank goodness for peanut butter (and not for jelly!).
He’s tall and built and a right handsome Scot,
And we blush when we see him, our faces get hot,
A wink of his eye and and our hearts skip a beat,
We hang around Twitter waiting for a tweet,
Outlander Starz is doing their best,
Ron, Terry and Jasper..keeping us abreast;
The Gaelic lesson was a beautiful thing,
Our phones all say “sassenach” whenever they ring,
And with this thought, it’s important to say,
A huge thank you to the crew at the end of the day.
So, Heughligans, join me in wishing everyone in sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all an Outlandish Night!”
