The Heughligans got Sam named E!News Hottie of the Week for the week ending July 12, 2013 and the week ending July 19, 2013. Clip from the E!News announcement. This led to Sam being retired as a E!News Hottie Hall of Famer. Sam then suggested in passing that we should make his friend Tim Downie the next Hottie. So we picked up the torch.

We didn’t quite make it the following week, but some dedicated Heughligans kept up the fight the and in the week ending August 2nd, he came in second, but they announced it on the air anyway and actually spent more time talking about him than the winner, whose name I’ve already forgotten. Not sure if they’ve ever done a runner-up before, since I don’t usually watch. So we’re going to call it a win since our guys got good airtime, which is the point of the endeavor.

On the week ending August 9, 2013 we had our biggest push to date. We were relentless. As far as we could tell we were outvoting the competition at least 5 to 1. We waited with bated breath for the announcement and we were robbed. It wasn’t all bad, but it certainly wasn’t fair either. They gave a very nice shout-out to both Diana and Outlander, but not the title. They then officially retired all things Outlander basically barring us as a group from voting in future competitions.

One of the things that really annoys me about this though, is that they could have told us sooner. When they realized we were going to win (which should have been pretty early on), they could have just said look we’re not going to do it, but we’ll mention you, so you may as well stop voting. Just rude in my opinion. If you’re not going to follow your own rules, at least let people know. More on my thoughts on this result.
