Swept away by the Devil’s Mark

I found myself in shock after last weeks episode, The Devil’s Mark.  This was acting at its best as well as writing and directing. I completely forgot that I read the book. Each scene was full of emotions ranging from disgust *Leghair, Father Bain* to suspense *cray Geillis* to downright reaching for a tissue as Claire was whipped and when Jamie turned and left her at the stones. I’ll admit I held on to my husband’s hand for the entire episode and tolerated his side glances whenever I sniffed.

When the credits scrolled by and next weeks preview played he finally looked at me and said (we have an agreement he can’t talk to me until the show is completely over) “I thought you read the book, why are you acting like you didn’t know what was happening?” Because babe, it was just that good. While watching this episode the book really did not matter. I was swept up into Outlander Starz world and boy was it a magical place.

Now as our favorite couple is heading to Lallybroch I need to chill out and relax. This episode should be smooth sailing right?! Nothing like getting a Welcome Home party thrown by family and friends. Like my 4yr old likes to say easy peasy lemon squeezy. So fans if you are able to join me in a cocktail drink this Saturday the recipe is at the end of this blog. I have named this drink Lemon Drop at Lallybroch. What’s in your cup? Slainte Mhath!!

Recipe is as follows. 5 parts Citron Vodka, 3 parts Sour Mix, 1 Part Lemoncello. (Sour Mix Recipe: 1 cup sugar, 2 cups Water, 2 Cups fresh strained lemon juice) Shake on ice; pour into a sugar rimmed glass

peace love happiness

  1. Don’t know you’re site looked like before, but it’s very professional looking and seems to provide lnfo to fans/members. I especially like the background on your Twitter page, beautiful and remenicent of Jamie.
I am new to all of this (except for reading Diane’s books and rewatching the episodes)how is this fan based group differ from Outlander Ambassador, if it does.?
Thanks for your time and good luck with your
    bagpipe lessons. Deb Jensen

  2. It will be a tough episode to watch for sure! We may have to buy a new whisky to get us through it.

  3. I agree so much with you! Geilis show was astonishing and when Jamie arrives all alone against the mob, the intensity in his eyes while he listens to Claire (Sam is so awesome)… You can feel all the distress and pain when they go back to the stones. Unbearable!!! I don’t know how we will be able to go through rape and torture …
